Enable the keyboard

Open Lexinori once. In iOS Settings, go to General → Keyboard → Keyboards → Add New Keyboard and choose Lexinori. Open a text field, then use the system globe key to switch to it. The containing app also offers a calculator, Formula Studio, settings and setup guidance.

Lexinori is a utility keyboard with number and symbol input. Use your usual keyboard for ordinary typing. Hold the system globe key to switch back.

Calculate and reuse a result

Type an expression with the calculator keys, or place the cursor after an existing expression. Selected text has priority when available. For example, 100 + 20% gives 120. Preview the result, then explicitly choose Insert, Replace or the full equation. Replace is disabled when the original text cannot be matched safely.

Add results to a subtotal, insert an itemized calculation, reuse the previous result or undo a clear. Choose a number format, or use Direct input when you want number keys to type straight into the current text field. Delete text acts on the host field; calculator clear acts on the calculation.

Make your own formula actions

In the app’s Actions tab, create a named formula using x, such as x * 1.12 for tax or x / 4 for splitting a bill. Preview, enable and reorder actions there, then use them from the calculator. The keyboard falls back to its default actions if iOS does not make the shared configuration available.

Check a city’s current time

Type a query such as London time or 伦敦时间, then switch to Lexinori. Matching places display their current local times; ambiguous city names can show multiple places. Check the country or region before inserting a result. Times use your device’s clock and available time-zone rules, with daylight saving where applicable. This does not request your location.

Save text for later

Open Notes in the keyboard. Choose Save current text to preview selected text or the available text before the cursor, then tap Save note. Pin, expand, insert or delete saved notes in the keyboard. The latest deletion can be undone during that notes session. The limit is 100 notes, with up to 16 KiB of UTF-8 text per note.

Paste reads clipboard text only after a tap and needs optional Allow Full Access. iOS may also request permission to paste. Preview before saving. Without that permission, paste with your regular keyboard, switch back and use Save current text. iOS may expose only a fragment of the surrounding text; inspect the preview.

Count, edit and draw

Select text, then open Tools → Text count for characters, characters without whitespace, English words and a configurable limit. Counts apply to the selection iOS provides. Different services may count text differently.

Tools also include cursor movement, safe text editing, text masking, symbols, a random-number generator, sketching and short frame animations. Preview masking before applying it; it may not detect every private detail. Random values are for everyday use, not passwords or security.

Sketches are copied as PNG; animations as GIF. Paste into a compatible field in the current app. The receiving app decides whether images can be pasted and whether GIFs remain animated. Some text fields accept neither, and some apps flatten GIFs. Lexinori cannot override those restrictions.

Full Access is optional

Calculation, city time and private local notes work without Full Access. Clipboard-related actions may require it. Allow Full Access broadens the keyboard’s system permissions, including network capability, but Lexinori does not implement a network service or upload what you type. You can turn it off in the keyboard’s iOS Settings page.

Troubleshooting

If text is unavailable, put the cursor in an editable field or select the intended text, then switch to Lexinori again. iOS controls what context a keyboard receives. Secure fields and some apps use the system keyboard or disallow custom keyboards.

If a save fails, keep the preview open and retry after unlocking the device. If the keyboard is unresponsive, switch keyboards and reopen it. For recurring problems, email the device model, iOS version, Lexinori version, host app and steps to reproduce. Remove private text from screenshots before sending them. We do not automatically receive your keyboard content.
